Our recommendations for where to find great beer…NOW.
Archived from Spring 2018
After the long, dark days of winter (in Arizona, winter lasts maybe two days), it is time to get outside and drink some beer. March in Arizona is gorgeous–perfect Spring Training weather. If everyone knew how wonderful spring in Arizona was, there would be 50 million people here. So don’t tell anyone!
Here’s our short list of where to imbibe in Arizona during the fabulous 70 degree days of spring.
The Shop continues to be THE place for exciting craft beer in Phoenix. Get outside and enjoy their delightful beer garden (between the taproom and the brewery) while sipping a Bingo Bango Bongo–their tropical, danky, IPA-y collaboration with Modern Times. [They did a major run of cans on this one, but I have the feeling they will still sell out quickly.]
This new nanobrewery in downtown Mesa sports multiple brews with Spring Training related names, like First Crack of the Bat and Inside the Park. A small patio facing Main Street lets you soak up the sun while sipping Oro’s finely crafted brews.
North Mountain Brewing, Phoenix
North Mountain Brewing turns 5-years-old in March of this year and they are throwing an all-day party on March 10th. If you can’t make it, they are throwing an all-day St. Patrick’s Day party on the 17th! They are tapping a barrel aged Erin Go Bock this month to go with their special food menus. Yes, their patio is small but with 20 taps churning out creative and delicious beer, you owe it to yourself to visit.
