AZBeer.com Festivals

AZBeer.com is a fund-raising/sponsorship initiative of Sun Sounds of Arizona. Sun Sounds is an organization that provides audio services to the blind community. Each day, they record and distribute recordings of current news periodicals for blind individuals to listen to. As a former broadcaster, I applaud their efforts.

AZBeer.com puts on three beer festivals in Arizona annually: The Great Arizona Beer Festival (generally in March); Made in the Shade (in Flagstaff, in June), and The Great Tucson Beer Festival (in the fall).

Arizona Beer Traveler has been to Made in the Shade and The Great Arizona Beer Festival multiple times. Made in the Shade, with its summertime date and cooler climate, seems to be the bigger draw.

UPDATE:  August 25, 2019

I took a glace at the SunSounds' website recently and it appears that the Phoenix and Tucson versions of the festival are on "hiatus." I heard that the Phoenix festival (usually in March/April) was looking for a new location and was taking a break. But now, even the Tucson festival, which is usually in late October, is not even listed.

The good news...the Flagstaff festival is still going strong.

Stay tuned.
